Georgetown Wedding Photographer | Hobbits and Ents

This was a DREAM wedding! Let me count the ways how much I loved this…. out in Georgetown, a wonderful golden fall day (never mind that it was only 40 degrees and windy), trees with faces everywhere, my favorite Target people all together, a lake full of yellow leaves, wolves watching us from behind a fence aaaand my very own love was with me to play piano for everyone. It could not get any better!

Patricia & Eric got married! I know Patricia from my favorite Target store in Aurora and was so excited to be photographer and guest at her wedding. It was great to change into party clothes after a while and just do the things, oh, do the things that we like to do. Do a little dance …… … Get down tonight! HAHA

For more info on the location, check out www.shadowsranch.com - it was a dream come true! Shadows Ranch made you feel as if you are walking through an enchanted forest. The owners of the ranch keep a bunch of wolves (behind a fence), but at night they are allowed inside to cuddle up with their human pack leaders. If you know me, then you will understand why I was so in love with this wedding :)

more Lori & Dave | Genesee Wedding Photographer

we heart Lori & Dave! Their wedding was absolutely fantastic. The day started out as a complete chaos for Toe and I. We were stuck in bad traffic while driving up the mountain to Genessee. Before we even left the house I knew that I would have to go to the restroom, but like a stubborn kid I thought “I can just hold it in”. Who would have known that we will be trapped in the car for over an hour. I’m not even going to lie, at one point I almost started to hyperventilate, I had to go THAT bad. So I made Toe pull over, but I was just too shy to go into the bushes with all the cars driving by. I was close to crying… HAHA  but we finally found the *perfect* bush and I was able to appreciate life again LOL

We still made it to the wedding in time, and even our bride was there in time. Now that’s a whole other story. Poor Lori’s car broke down on the way to Genesee (uhm, were you the reason for the traffic jam missy?! LOL). So she was standing there until a good Samaritan picked her up. What a story to tell! “I picked up a damsel in distress on her wedding day and brought her to the chapel”

So, as you can see, a day full of adventure! I loved their wedding so much, it was simply beautiful and very spiritual. Here are a few of my favorites:

Our 8-8-08

We arrived at the salon and took a few pictures of Kristina, her mom and sister, and then headed over to The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park.   Estes Park is SO BEAUTIFUL.. I would live there in a heartbeat! I love that you have to cross the lake on this looong bridge to get into town- which is nestled in a valley of the Rocky Mountains. The Stanley overlooks Estes Park, very majestic! There were 12 weddings at the hotel this day.. Crazy.

Oh, did I mention Kristina is PREGNANT! YAY!

After getting ready in their suite, we headed up to the ceremony site. Stef and I had no idea it was a 30 minute 4×4 ride of tilts and bumps. Was rather funny to see this jeep barreling through the woods carrying a bride, her maid and two photographers. Once up the mountain, we found ourselves overlooking the whole valley. It was a pretty gloomy day, which we were thrilled about- perfect lighting! Looking out across the valley I can see why Kristina and Alan chose this location. It was breathtaking!

This is going UP!

And looking back down what we’d come up!

The ceremony site! WOW!

Alan did such a good job trying not to look at his lovely bride until she started walking up to the edge of the clift, where we were gathered. It was so sweet, when Kristina had to ask her father to let go of her hand! I tear up just thinking about it. There were some very touching moments that I can clearly recall… Kristina’s vows were so touching and sweet. Not only did I cry, right along with her, so did quite a few of her guests. She also had some trouble getting Alan’s ring on! Okay, a lot of trouble. hehe.

After the ceremony we worked our way back down the mountain with the bride and groom stopping along the way every now and then to grab some pictures. Eventually we ended up back at the Stanley and finished up our “We Did It” images. SO sweet! These two are total naturals in front of a lens or two! It was pretty neat to see all the other photographers there also, and every once in a while I’d catch them stealing one or two frames after we posed the couple.

Frame crasher!!
